First off, I remember it being “hi he hi ho - its off to work we go” which does not match any of this, so, that is my $0.02. Maybe my memory is faulty in that regard. Again, I probably have not seen the film clip in decades , so, who knows what was done in that time frame. I am just going to explain the swapping back and forth between the effects and what you are suppose to consider.

There are things left that I just do not know about. At the beginning it looks like a naked lady with her leg up on the left side of the stairs. At the end with the water fall, lower left looks like a hand smoking a cigarette or any eye. I do not know if it is just art, happenstance or things buried between the frames. When played backwards you can see black ghosts move around the mine that are suppose to be shadows.
